-- The Arabian Horse Association has released a letter addressing fee changes going into 2021 --
Every year, the Budget and Finance Committee meets to review the prepared Arabian Horse Association budget. Through the budget review process, many components are looked at from the actual fees charged to the way work flows through our computer systems. TBA classes require the same amount of AHA staff time as an Added Classes do. The question is who is to absorb the cost to do the work to get the classes added in the system for the completion of the show? It was decided to charge $15 for a TBA which is held and has results submitted to the AHA office. Realizing we are now charging a fee for this service a decision was also made to reduce the existing Added Class fee by half to $15 to help offset the increase in the TBA fee. Both added classes and TBA classes require the same amount of staff time, and therefore the cost is the same for both.
In addition, the Judges & Stewards 9-90 fees were increased to the following:
These Regional and National fees had not seen a fee increase since prior to 1999 when we started tracking fees.
AHA has over 230 fees associated with doing work. Both the Budget & Finance Committee and Board of Directors realizes that raising fees is not a popular decision and it is not one taken lightly. Both groups have a fiduciary responsibility to this Association to keep it viable in the equine industry.
