Interested in the governance process of AHA? Join us this year in Reno, Nevada for the Arabian Horse Association Annual Membership Convention in November. Anyone can register as a member/guest and attend the open committee/commission meetings along with the three General Sessions. Registration is now available on the convention page online or by printable form. Delegates, your club must have selected you for that position before your registration can be completed online.
The resolutions received in the office are vetted by the Agenda & Resolutions Committee and then assigned to the various AHA committees/commissions which may be affected by them. Begin with the Plenary Session via Zoom on November 13th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm MT to hear the proponents speak to each resolution. Then during Convention in Reno, contribute to the conversation beginning Wednesday, November 20.
If you haven’t signed up for the Tier B Committees yet, please login to your “Welcome” page and scroll down to the “I want to…” section and select “Sign up for a Committee”. You will need to submit your committee request annually for participation in Tier B Committees.
If you are interested in a Tier A Committee/Commission, let your Regional Director know and they can place your name forward as a nominee. Some of these nominations are voted upon by the Board of Directors and some are by the Convention Delegates. Please refer to Chapter 5 of the AHA Handbook for more information.
AHA will be voting on officers at this year’s convention. These positions are President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The candidates for any contested position(s) will be providing responses to questions posed of them by the Nominating Committee to help the Delegates in their decision of which candidate to elect.
Enjoy gaming and other activities at the host hotel, Silver Legacy Resort, and Casino. In addition, car rentals can be made directly with the hotel and Lake Tahoe is a 45-minute drive away. Join us in “The Biggest Little City in the World”!
